DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING

Tryon Elementary School is a rural school located in Tryon, a ranching community in the Sandhills 30 miles from North Platte. There are only around 40 students in grades K-7. Due to the small size, staff members are extremely aware of students' skills, needs, interests, and accomplishments. Reading and math classes are ability grouped. Assessments include Direct Instruction progress, MAP, and NeSA. The school employs two instructional para educators to assist teachers and assist as resource aids in SPED.
