DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING


Central City High School is a 9-12 facility with a total of 28 certificated and 12 classified staff members. Of the 28 teachers, 8 of the teachers are shared with the middle school or elementary. The high school offers over 90 various classes of which some classes are required, yet other classes can be taken as electives. Starting with the class of 2013, all students must earn a total of 230 credits in order to receive a diploma. Students are able to take dual credit classes in mathematics and are also able to receive college credits in English Composition, Sociology, Economics, Psychology, and College Literature. Students have the opportunity to receive community college Tech Prep credits through Central Community College in the Career and Technical fields of study. The district has an alternative school for those students who are unsuccessful in the regular school setting and provide creit recovery opportunities.
