DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING


Sandy Creek Elementary School is a part of the South Central Nebraska Unified School District #5. It is a Class C-2 school located near Fairfield, Nebraska and includes the communities of Clay Center, Deweese, Edgar, Fairfield and Glenvil. Each grade level is co-taught and differentiated instruction is provided. Sandy Creek is a PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention School); training our teachers to positively reinforce students for following educational expectations. Our MTSS Multi-Tiered Systems of Support team assures that all students are taught at their instructional level. We also provide an ACHIEVE program to support students who need additional instruction to close the learning gap with their peers or provide intense interventions. The students are also provided opportunities to Learn in Depth about a topic of their interest. Students are coached to become an expert as they learn to become conductors of their own learning.
