DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING

Nebraska City High School offers a wide range of academic and extra-curricular opportunities for all students as part of a total educational program in a 9-12 setting. Department chairs lead instructional areas to further academic opportunities for students. A Positive Behavior Reinforcement program has guided nearly 425 students in grades 9-12 to focus on positive behaviors each day. Special opportunities for students include a Comprehensive Special Education Program, English Language Learners, Distance Education, Dual Credit College Offerings, Honor’s Courses, Career Academies, and computer/technological training opportunities. Every 9th-11th grader visits at least one Nebraska college campus or school of higher learning yearly. In the fall of 2016-17, all students have a computer device for instruction and to communicate learning. Whole Faculty Study groups(PLC’s) serve as links to Professional Development for staff. School Improvement drives educational decision-making.
