DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING

Hayward Elementary serves over 310 students in Grades 3,4,and 5. A balanced curriculum is provided to ALL students including: Special Ed, English Learners,and High Ability Learners. DIBELS(Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Learning Skills) & NWEA MAP round out Assessment. RtI(Response to Intervention)is used for supporting strategies. Reading Mastery and Go Math are core. Various interventions are used for both. Writing is promoted in all grades. PBiS(Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) as well as BIST (Behavior Intervention Support Team) provide a consistent school-wide behavior plan. A full range of support services and programs are available which include: Pioneer Learning Center(after-school extended learning),Title 1 Reading, Speech Therapy, and Counseling services. All students can access technology including computers, iPads and Chrome books. Staff work collectively to provide educational opportunities that reflect the District's mission and belief statements.
