DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING
Palmyra Jr-Sr High School is one half of District OR-1 Public Schools. The 7-12 building has 22 certified staff, and approximately 200 students. Palmyra Jr-Sr High School offers a wide variety of courses for students. In grades 9-12, we offer a solid college prep curriculum as well as a growing and improving vocational curriculum. PHS students take full advantage of Baylor test prep for the ACT, multiple college and dual credit offerings, online offerings, as well as career academies. The use of technology by staff and students is excellent, including 1:1 Chromebooks for all kids 7-12. In the junior high we require all students to take English, Math, Science, Social Studies, P.E., and computer insturction as the core curriculum. Exploratory instruction is offered in art, agriculture, FCS, I.T., and Spanish. Band and choir are offered as an elective. All 7-12 students are actively engaged in character educations programs – Second Step in 7-8 and 8 To Great in 9-12.
