DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING

Emerson School is a two-track elementary school serving students in grades K-5. Approximately 300 students attend Kindergarten through Fifth Grades in a two-story facility built in 2001. Students receive at least 90 minutes of reading instruction, 50 minutes of language arts instruction, and 75 minutes of math instruction daily. Emerson houses a pre-school program for 29 students. Besides a strong reading and math program, specialized services are available at Emerson for English as a Second Language, Title 1 Reading, and Special Education. Students also receive instruction in music, physical education, and technology. Emerson houses a preschool program on site. The program offers both an a.m and p.m. session. Emerson has an active Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). Parents are encouraged to become active with the PTO.
