Lakeview High School is a rural high school located just north of Columbus. School enrollment 9-12 is approximately 289. Students who attend Lakeview High School come from Shell Creek and Platte Center elementary schools. There are also two K-8 Lutheran grade schools within the district that provide Lakeview High School with students. The minority student population is about 25%. Families for the most part, live north, east, or west of the Columbus city limits. Some families live as far as 20 miles away. The Lakeview district generally receives very little state aid.
