Lakeview Jr.-Sr. High School is a rural high school located just north of Columbus. School enrollment 7-8 is approximately 133 students. Students who attend Lakeview Jr.-Sr. High School come from Shell Creek and Platte Center elementary schools. There are also two K-8 Lutheran grade schools within the district that provide Lakeview Jr.-Sr. High School with students. The minority student population is about 27%. Families for the most part, live north, east, or west of the Columbus city limits. Some families live as far as 20 miles away. The Lakeview district generally receives very little state aid.
