DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING

Dorchester Public Schools is located in northern Saline County, and is a short drive from our state's capital in Lincoln. Approximately 190 students are served by a single, K-12 attendance center located in the village of Dorchester, pop. 625. During the 2015-2016 school year school the staff continued to align curriculum documents to state and national standards. The school district has been a part of the Nebraska Department of Education Evaluation Pilot program, and is beginning to implement student learning objectives, student perceptual data, and professional development goal-setting as part of the process to guide improvement of instruction. The staff continue the implementation of Response To Intervention (RTI) programs for Reading and Math. This process will continue to develop courses designed to stretch and challenge the cognitive abilities of our students.
