DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING


Westmont Elementary School is located in a School Improvement District in the city of Omaha, Nebraska within the northwestern edge of the Springfield Platteview Community Schools boundaries. Westmont currently serves approximately 286 students in grades Pre-Kindergarten-6. These students are divided into two sections of each grade. Class sizes currently range from 14 to 22 students. These students are served by 27 certified teachers, an office manager and an assistant, a health CNA, two food service staff, two custodians, 11 paraprofessionals, and a principal. In addition to the core elementary curriculum, students also benefit from vocal music, instrumental music (grade 6), physical education, guidance/counseling, art, and library media which are scheduled into the day. Westmont shares a counselor, a media specialist, an art teacher and a gifted facilitator (Discovery) with Springfield Elementary.
