DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING
Platteview Central Junior High is located just 4 miles east of Springfield. It serves approximately 170 students grades 7-8. Platteview Central Junior High has one core area learning team in each grade level that works toward meeting the individual needs of all students. The junior high also offers a variety of elective courses designed to give the students a broad range of experiences and learning opportunities. It employs 10 full time teachers and shares another 12 teachers, who teach elective courses, with the high school. Also, there is a half-time media center teacher and a full-time counselor. There are four paraprofessionals that assist teachers in their day to day work with students. Platteview Central carries a 20:1 student to teacher ratio in its core classes of instruction.
