DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING

Saunders County Head Start Preschool is located within Wahoo Elementary School and is an inclusion program serving income eligible students from the county and children with verified disabilities within the Wahoo Public School district. The program serves children ages 3-5 who are below the kindergarten eligibility age. The purpose of the program is to promote social, emotional, intellectual, language, physical, and aesthetic development and learning for the children and promoting family development and support. The program consists of two classrooms with up to 20 students in each room. Each classroom is staffed with an Early Childhood endorsed teacher and at least 2 paraprofessionals. An Early Childhood Special Education teacher and Speech Language Pathologist are also on staff and spend time within the classrooms each day. The program operates six hours a day, Monday through Friday and follows the Wahoo Public School calendar.
