DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING

Mead Elementary is a PK-6 school with a focus on preparing students both academically and socially for Jr-Sr High School via a balanced curriculum. Instruction is also included to help students deal with conflict, make wise choices and understand that their decisions have consequences. Mead Elementary strongly believes in the importance of all academic areas with a focus on reading, writing, and math. It is our belief that reading, writing, and math provide the foundation for student achievement in all other academic areas. The School Improvement Leadership Team supports the idea of using resources to ensure that early elementary students are at or above grade level in reading, writing, and math. District leadership provides the necessary materials and human resources to meet this goal. Monthly assemblies are held to celebrate the successes of students. Students are recognized for positive behavior, reading progress, and attendance, among others.
