DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING

Minatare Junior-Senior High School, a two story 1926 building, is home to 106 students. It has a poverty rate of over 80% and a minority rate of over 49%. The mobility rate is over 15% for the 2017-2018 school year. The District is geographically small (12.5 sq. miles) and has a valuation of just over $45,000,000. As a result financial challenges limit programs for students. The district offsets these challenges by utilizing federal programs and patron participation. The secondary school has engaged its students with additional challenges and programs to help them succeed in their post secondary situations. The TEAMS program is used in conjunction with Western Nebraska Community College in order for college preparation and goal setting. Dual credit is offered for English Composition class. Students are encouraged to take coursework at nearby Western Nebraska Community College. Online courses began being offered in the fall of 2007 and continue to be offered.
