DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING
Minatare Elementary houses 102 students in a K-6, 1952 building. There is a staff of nine full-time teachers, and three other teachers that are shared with the secondary school. It is a School-wide Title I school. Approximately 80% of the students are on free or reduced lunches and over 56% are minority students. Coupled with the high mobility rate, this poses some challenges not seen in other districts of similar size. Classroom size ranges from 8 to 20 students. A half-time Title I teacher works both as an inclusion member of the staff and a pullout member in order to provide intervention work with needy students. A full-time Title I para is also available for help with kindergarten students and teachers.
