DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING
Northfield Elementary School located in northwest Gering serves a diverse population of 370 students in K-6. A professional staff of teachers and paraprofessionals work with students to build learning and achievement throughout the curriculum. Northfield offers learning opportunities: Summer School, PBIS, BIST, RtI, and K-6 Promethean Activboards, Tutoring, Foster Grandparents, and yearly marathon. Federal grants: Title I, Safe Routes to School, and Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program. Northfield students take pride in serving their community: donating to local food pantry, collecting for American Heart Association, contributing to Pennies for Patients, collaborating with Keep Nebraska Beautiful, recycling, planting trees, assisting Red Cross in relief efforts, and supporting Gering’s English as a Second Language parent program. The success at our school can be directly attributed to the hard work, commitment, and collaboration between staff, students, parents, and community partners.
