DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING
Mitchell is a Class III school organized as PK-6 elementary and 7-12 secondary. Mitchell Elementary expanded facilities during the 2005-06 school year. A separate building near the main building houses grades 4-6 in addition to expanding computer and music facilities. In 2012-13 MES again expanded by adding a two room building to house Title 1 services. Mitchell Elem. utilizes a 90 minute, uninterrupted, daily reading block. Mitchell Elementary again expanded during the 2007-08 school year by the addition of a preschool housed in the building. The preschool holds both a morning and afternoon session. Mitchell Elementary utilizes the NWEA/maps test for its NRT in grades 2-11, NeSA for its State Assessment in grades 3-8 and 11, DIBELS and AIMSweb for progress monitoring tools in grades K-8.
