DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING

Bluffs Middle School’s student population mirrors the cultural diversity of the community. BMS serves 800 students with a middle school structure including cross curricular teams in grades six, seven, and eight, and provides an environment which helps adolescents transition between elementary and high school. Each grade level of students is assigned a counselor, which follows them through their three years of middle school. Assigned to a team, students receive instruction in the core subjects of Reading, Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. In addition to the five core subjects, all students have Physical Education every day, all students complete one computer course each year, and all 8th grade students complete one quarter of Career Exploration. Students have the opportunity to participate in exploratory classes throughout their middle school years. Advanced courses, focus classes, Honors Opportunities, and after school enrichment clubs further address student needs.
