DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING


Seward Middle school serves 430 students in grades 5-8. The school utilizes the concept of grade level teaming and exploratory classes to offer a diverse curriculum, including instructional programs in Art, Communication Information Technology Systems, Reading, Language Arts, Sciences, Social Studies, Spanish, Health, Family and Consumer Sciences, Mathematics, Vocal and Instrumental Music, Physical Education, Agriculture, Industrial Technology, Special Education, and High Ability Learner Education. The middle school employs 31 teachers with an average of 14 years of experience. Sixty-Eight percent of middle school teachers have earned Master's Degrees. The activities program for middle school students include: football, volleyball, basketball, wrestling, and track. Clubs and other activity groups include: builder's club, bully response team, student council, and several vocal and instrumental music groups.
