DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING


Deshler Public Junior-Senior High School has a teaching staff of 16 and 120 students. There are two teachers for each of the core curriculum areas. In addition, a wide variety of learning opportunities exist in the areas of Fine Arts, Agriculture Education, Applied Arts, Business Education, Foreign Language, Computer Technology, and Physical Education. Math and Science are accelerated programs. Eighth grade students take Algebra I, and freshmen may take Biology and Physical Science during the same school year. This allows additional upper level courses in Math and Science to be taken during the junior and senior years. A Standard or College Prep. diploma is available to students. Students earning a College Prep. diploma must complete additional courses in Math, Science, Foreign Language, and Computer Technology, as well as an advanced English course.
