DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING

Bruning-Davenport Unified School District is a school of 183 students with PK-1 elementary facilities at the Bruning site and grades 2-4 at Davenport, a 5-8 grades middle school in Davenport, and a 9-12 grades high school in Bruning. The Bruning Elementary site had 56 students, including preschool age. There are 4 FTE teachers. We have 2 preschool classes comprised of three- and four-year old children. They are mixed in the morning; however, the three-year old children are in class for a half-day. The preschool teachers adopted PBiS Pyramid behavior strategies. The kindergarten and first grade are nearby in order to allow easy collaboration. We are in the second year of Wonders Reading and the third year of Nancy Larson science. Both have digital resources, text-dependent analysis, and experiential learning opportunities for students in grades K-5. Students have access to technology through laptops, iPads, and Spheros, Tynker, and LEGOS.
