DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING
Umonhon Nation High School uses (Measures of Academic Progress) MAP testing. In accordance to state mandates, 11th grade students must complete the State Writing Assessment and NeSA testing. In order for students to receive a high school diploma, they are required to complete 230 credits. The credits are as followed: 40 English, 30 Social Studies, 30 Math, 30 Science, 20 PE, 10 Fine Arts, 40 Vocational, and 30 Electives. Additionally, Umonhon Nation Seniors are required to compile and present a portfolio of student work. This is presented to the school and community in hard copy, digital and oral form. Because of a high rate of mobility some portfolios are not as extensive as others, but whenever possible students are assisted in gathering work from former schools and teachers. The Alternative Education program, onsite daycare, and credit recovery software have also played major roles in helping students’ academic achievements.
