DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING
Umonhon Nation Elementary School has started the process of implementing sustainable practices to improve student achievement. Using professional learning communities as the umbrella of our work. The elementary staff meets with their collaborative teams in a structured time for fifty minutes once a week. Within the collaborative setting, teachers are working to use data from formative assessments in guided reading to have a more comprehensive understanding of how to improve reading for each student. Another emphasis at the elementary level is our work to provide feedback to effective practices and goals. Teachers have set individual and building level professional development goals, using our instructional model as a guide. Lastly, to bring this work all together, the elementary staff, will focus on mission, vision, and values, in order to provide a purpose for culture and work to improve learning and teaching.
