DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING
Umon hon Nation Elementary School has implemented sustainable practices to improve student achievement. Using professional learning communities as the umbrella of our work, the MTSS implementation plan has been a critical component of the PLC process in improving core instruction. Within the collaborative setting, teachers are working to use data from assessments to inform the science of reading instruction, practice implementation of explicit instruction practices, and implement evidence-based interventions. UNPS elementary utilizes the Aims Web Plus screening assessment and progress monitoring tool in order to provide our staff with data connected to the implementation science of reading. UNPS developed decision rules that will place students in an intervention connected to their learning needs.
