Umonhon Nation Middle School has been working on improvement by increasing the rigor, using improved curriculum support materials. Since implementing PBIS strategies, teachers are working to create a system of safe, respectful, and responsible classrooms. Umonhon Nation Middle School uses Aims Web Plus as its benchmark screener in math and reading. In accordance to state mandates, 6th, 7th and 8th grade students must complete the NSCAS Assessment. Additionally, Umonhon Nation 8th graders are required to compile and present a portfolio of student work. We utilize an integrated Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) with evidence-based reading programs at the middle school. Our school follows stage-based implementation supports and closely monitors these steps of sustainability.
