Ord Elementary is located on the edge of the Sandhills in the North Loup River Valley in Ord, Nebraska, surrounded by rich agricultural land which is vital to the local economy. Strong leadership, a never ending work ethic, and the ability to make use of available resources are characteristics of the community that are instilled into the culture of the student body. Recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School in 2013 has challenged our students and staff by accepting a leadership role in our state that allows us to share our educational experiences with other communities. Ord Elementary was designed around the concept of a single room schoolhouse, the open teaching environment creates a learning atmosphere that fosters strong relationships, inclusive teaching practices, and promotes collaboration among teachers and students. Family values of love, patience, and empathy are taught alongside the core subjects creating an educational experience that develops the whole person.
