DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING

Arbor Park Middle School accommodates grades 3-5 and has 180 plus students at each grade level. The basic subjects (math and language arts) receive considerable time and emphasis. Science, social studies, health, and computer literacy supplement the basic skill courses. Specially trained teachers provide instruction for students in vocal music, instrumental music (grade 5), art, physical education, and technology/library/media skills. Students also receive services and support from a variety of other specially trained personnel: school psychologist, diagnostician, guidance counselor, resource teacher, Title I teacher, and school nurse. Many aspects of the curriculum, classroom routines, school rules, and academic programs are quite fundamental and carefully defined to guide youngsters to become responsible citizens, help them control their own behavior, build confidence and self-esteem, and make the best of every opportunity to succeed.
