DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING
Deerfield Primary School enrolls 350 plus PK-2 students in 3-4 sections and houses the District’s early childhood special education preschool program. Students are challenged in the basic curriculum areas by caring and concerned classroom teachers. Early literacy development is emphasized throughout the primary grades. Students participate in a reading block of uninterrupted instruction. Specialists develop the areas of music, art, physical education, technology and library skills. Support in the areas of speech and language, special education, reading, guidance, as well as student health, are available. A school-wide character education program rounds out the K-3 curriculum. A student recognition program is in place along with monthly all-school assemblies.
