DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING
Wayne Junior High administration and faculty are committed to planning a comprehensive curriculum that is responsive to adolescent students. Core curriculum teachers specialize in specific content areas of math, science, social studies, and language arts. Students must complete a basic core curriculum and have an opportunity to complete advanced math and language arts. Exploratory courses are offered in family and consumer science, Spanish, art, technology, careers, physical education, and music. The junior high school is involved in the AdvancED-NCA System Accreditation process in which improved reading comprehension is the school improvement goal. The junior high school has increased access to technology for students by providing a computer lab near the media center, and mobile labs for classroom use. With the commitment to the development of the students, the junior high provides an opportunity for the students to enter high school prepared for their next educational venture.
