DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING

Wayne Junior High administration and faculty are committed to planning a comprehensive curriculum that is responsive to adolescent students. Core curriculum teachers specialize in specific content areas of math, science, social studies, and language arts. Students must complete a basic core curriculum and have an opportunity to complete advanced math and language arts. Exploratory courses are offered in family and consumer science, Spanish, art, technology, careers, agriculture, physical education, and music. The junior high school is involved in the Cognia-NCA System Accreditation process. The junior high school provides one-to-one computer access for the students. A wide variety of extra-curricular activities is offered including athletics, fine and performing arts, and speech. With the commitment to the development of the students, the junior high provides an opportunity for the students to enter high school prepared for their next educational venture.
