Wakefield Elementary School is a progressive Pre-K-6 school providing a standards based education to a diverse student population. The number of students that live in poverty is 57% Pre-K-6. Students demographics reflect 50% Hispanic ethnicity and 50% Caucasian population. Wakefield Elementary was selected as a National Blue Ribbon School Award winner in 2014. A highly qualified teaching staff is committed to meeting the learning needs of all students. Comprehensive curricular and co-curricular programs provide excellent learning opportunities for students. Support programs are available for students with disabilities, requiring ELL services as well as high ability learning opportunities. Technology is being integrated into the instructional and learning process through Smart Boards, iPads, Smart Tables, Ipods and laptop computer learning activities.
