DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING
Wakefield Elementary School is a progressive Pre-K-6 school providing a standards based education to a diverse student population. The number of students that live in poverty is 56% Pre-K-6. Students demographics reflect 52% Hispanic ethnicity and 48% Caucasian population. 31% of students qualify for English Learner services. A highly qualified teaching staff is committed to meeting the learning needs of all students. Comprehensive curricular programs provide excellent learning opportunities for students. Student learning occurs through individualized center-based instruction. Inclusive support programs are available for students with disabilities, requiring ELL services as well as high ability learning opportunities. Technology is being integrated into the instructional and learning process through Smart Boards, iPads, Smart Tables, Chrome Books and laptop computer learning activities.
