DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING
Wheeler County is home to two small communities, Bartlett and Ericson, as well as many ranches and farms. Most of Wheeler Central's students and staff call the country their home. There are three buildings that comprise the district, all located in Bartlett, and all serve some portion of our elementary population. We finished the year with 57 elementary students grades K-6 in addition to 12 pre-schoolers and 8 served within our daycare. Ten certified staff members and three paraprofessionals help to meet or exceed requirements set forth by the Nebraska State Department of Education. As with the high school, our elementary maintains an affiliation with the Northern Tier Consortiuim, a group of ten schools that act as one large school system to write one School Improvement plan and maintain the common Reading Mastery curriculum that we utilize for grades K-6.
