DESCRIPTION PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL BUILDING
Preschool Learning Academy York (PLAY)serves three and four year-old children. The program is a partnership with York Early Childhood Education Team and Blue Valley Community Action Head Start. It has been in operation since the beginning of the 2007-2008 school year. Staff serving the program includes two classroom paraprofessionals, a Speech Language Pathologist, an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher, two regular education teachers and a supervisor. The preschool has the capacity to serve 72 students. In the spring 2012, YPS was awarded an early childhood grant to fund an additional section with capacity to serve an additional 30 students. Early childhood programming remains a high priority for us.
